After Vatican Diplomatic Ties what next PM Najib

After his historic trip to the Vatican and the establishment of diplomatic relationship by PM Najib; and when he returned to Malaysia, his first speech to the waiting Umno members was, “We wish to tell our friends, the Malaysian Christians . . . if they respect us, we will also respect them,” he told some 200 BN supporters at Kompleks Bunga Raya here.

“This is our message. Islam is fair to all. Islam is beautiful, Islam is grand, Islam is pure, and Islam is noble.”His connotation of the above has destroyed whatever semblance he has as a fair leader, his speech smacks of extreme religious fanatism, unbecoming of a Prime Minister of a multi racial Malaysia, without expounding any initiative in repairing the blemished relationship with the Christian community.  It clearly reveals his fear, that his establishing the diplomatic ties with the Holy See is still a contemptuous and controversial issue among the right wing segment of Umno which he desperately needs to prove for his continuance relevance.

His speech after his return from his diplomatic ventures abroad clearly shows not everything is going as Najib envisages. Now the 3M conspiracy which is widely speculated in the media has made the Prime Minister weary and unsure of himself, thus the scandalous way he threaded the Bersih Rally issue, and the desperation of shooting his legs and scoring his own goal, which shows him as a week captain. Najib cancelled his holiday in Italy, appologised to his better half and rushed back to save his throne which is now being deceitfully challenged by his adversaries.

Catholic Bishop Dr Paul  expressed puzzlement that Prime Minister Najib Razak could, after a trip to see the Pope Benedict in Rome earlier this week, still speak like as if “the sincerity of Malaysian Christians in their desire to dialogue with Muslims is subject to proof.” and he continued “I don’t want to sound carping and querulous especially after the announcement of diplomatic ties between Malaysia and the Vatican but the prime minister’s latest remarks, to my mind, are nothing if not puzzling,” said the titular head of Roman Catholics in the Melaka-Johor diocese. It is widely believed that the Christian community’s determination in fighting for the usage of Allah in the Malay language Bible is a contentious issue which culminated in January 2011 in widespread hate speeches, demonstrations, and burning of Churches.

And to add fuel to the conflagration, the ‘Malaysia Christian State’ enigma, which was ignited by two pro Umno bloggers, which headlined, “Agong under threat? DAP wants to make Christianity the official religion of Malaysia? the writer accused the DAP of trying to amend the Federal Constitution to allow a Christian to become prime minister.” And subsequently this was published in Utusan Malaysia, a vale threat was created from the thin air. And as usual the fascist quasi Umno Perkasa’s went to the road with its usual threat and intimidation. The home minister immediately called for serious action. And after that the case was left without any action. And until today the investigation has not been completed, for reason known only to them.
All outstanding issues which were created by the government like the emergence of the Allah issue which is not problem at all, until they politicized it show and prove that they are champions of their religion for their political expediency. The non cooperation and participation  in the inter religious organization, to prove exclusiveness and supremacy of Islamic religion will be an issue which cannot be resolved in the near future, with the current religious hate the rulers unleash to compete with PAS and maintain their relevance in running the government.
