Malaysia under religious delirium.

The month of Ramadan the holy month of the Muslims who fast and pray from dawn to dusk where charity, service and piety of the people are preached to be humble and conscious of the suffering of the underprivileged and the poor. The whole country celebrates the Ramadan together with their Muslim brethrens enjoying the togetherness and fraternity without all those government’s artificial brandishing of unity like the 1Malaysia policy. Enjoying the Malay kuihs and pastries, which are sold in evening bazaars especially for fasting month. But lately actions which breach the delicate fabric of unity and nationhood are being unleashed in the holy month to the chagrin of Muslims and others.

TV8, one of the stations under the stable of Media Prima, an Umno owned company opened the Pandora box, demonizing the Chinese and also Muslims alike, with an advertisement teaching how to dress, talk and behave during the fasting month. It shows a Chinese girl going to Malay cake stall, dressed in tight top and bottoms, talking loudly, and for every religiously unaccepted portrayal, a warning is flashed in the advertisement, telling non Muslims not to wear revealing cloth, and to respect the holy month and to wear decent cloths. The action of these paranoids were opposed by PAS leaders and overwhelming condemnation of the people backfired and the TV station was forced to discontinue the advertisements. The TV8 was reprimanded for their insensitivity 

Another action to challenge and insult the non Muslims were carried out but JAIS. A group from the Jabatan Agama Islam Selangor (Jais) raided the Damansara Utama Methodist Church (DUMC) building during a dinner in aid of Malaysia Aids Council under and had questioned a few Malay guests based on an unspecified complaint. Selangor executive councilor Datuk Mullah Hasan Ali defended today a late-night state Islamic enforcement raid on a church in Petaling Jaya yesterday, saying the words “Quran” and “pray” were used in the presence of Muslims at the dinner function. He claimed this was part of the authorities’ evidence that Christians were proselytising to Muslims.

The Menteri Besar of Selangor Datuk Seri Khalid Ibrahim has asked for an explanation from JAIS, and has instructed a gag order from any of the Executive councilors to talk about the incident until he meets His Majesty the Sultan, Moderate Muslim leaders has distanced away of the controversy of the Selangor Religious council raiding of multi racial dinner when 12 Muslims reprimanded and questioned for participating in dinner organized by some NGO’s. According to some sources, this is a political move to erode the confidence of Christians in PR government, to salvage the political fortune of Umno.

Whatever it is religion is being hijacked for the political expediency of Umno, the sacrilege of the Al Islam reporters in a church, the Perak State mufti who accused of mass conversion of Muslim to Christian in a Ipoh church and subsequent demonstration for hearsay, the Malaysia Christian state conspiracy, and the unresolved Allah controversy. It’s continuous story, whereas the Prime Minister goes to Vatican to initiate diplomatic relation, preaching tolerance and goodwill in the corridor of the world, but allow the most heinous insult which are unlashed by his Government.

It’s shocking to see that the government’s continuous tolerance of fanatical actions of religious bigots dismantling the good will and unity goes unhindered. Meanwhile the religious delusion and delirium continues to chagrin of the nation.
