Damansara Utara Methodist Church,JAIS and PAS

The religious conspiracy which was ignited by the raid on the Damansara Utara Methodist Church, by JAIS has now take turn to the worst for PAS. Its Youth Wing’s full endorsement of Mullah Hasan Ali and JAIS’s has thrown the Islamic party to the vagaries of the conservative and reformist section of the party. The difference of opinion between Khalid Samad and other ‘Erdogen’ with the Islamic puritanical faction has showed how volatile is PAS when it comes to the core issue of the religious supremacy of Islam.

The biggest victim in this dilemma is Pakatan Rakyat where PAS and PKR must not be seen as siding with infidels and to derail their quest to get the confidence of Malay votes. Menteri Besar of Selangor Khalid Ibrahim has tried to diffuse the situation with little success. Pakatan has fallen in a perfect trap of his political enemy Umno, a party now lost all semblance leadership and relevance. It has executed a perfect plot with the complicity of JAIS to demolish Pakatan’s political ambitions.
PAS is now between the devil and deep blue sea, all their effort in expounding themselves as a rational party, which protects the non Muslim rights and be the beacon in the promulgation fair play and justice will be at stake now. And for the Malay Muslim population any decisions which are remotely perceived as sacrificing the sanctity of Islam, the official religion, will have devastating effect on the Muslim electorates. It’s a complex situation where any decisions made will have adverse effect with different section of the population and have dire consequences with the voters.

The main stream media which has now start hitting PAS on their weakest spot; as betrayers of race and religion, Their championing of non Muslim rights, only earned abhorrence from Umno which is increasingly threatened by them. PAS is mercilessly trounced as the fake torch bearer of Islam, and which has mortgaged the sacredness of Islam for their narrow political expediency to win favours from non Muslims.

The Selangor State executive councilor for Religious Affair has become the thorn in flesh for PAS, who now talks as if he has broken rank with the religious party. His statements stereotype’s Umno, and has now become the biggest liability of PAS, demolishing all the good will and tolerant face of Islam which they took pain to emphasize, to the non Muslims, their right to practice their religious beliefs as enshrined in the constitution.

Pakatan Rakyat must make the correct decisions in overcoming this political enigma, to be relevant to be accepted by all Malaysians, and concentrate on the main agenda for change of Government. Religious issues like this must be solved with utmost sensitivity and care so that the fabric of nationhood is not jeopardized. Honesty and goodwill must always be maintained, where Umno is ready to pound and demolish with slightest excuse of weakness among Pakatan Rakyat to continue the plunder and bankrupt the country.
