The Muslim holy month of Ramadan, is used here to threaten, hurl insult and derogatory words against minorities with full backing of the government of the day. To add insult to injury, just after their Friday prayers in the vicinity of the house of God, the most contemptuous racial and religious slurs by a mob of 200 people were unleashed. Today 12th August 2011, Umno Senator Ezam Mohd Nor vowed to wage war against those who try to proselytize Muslims, in a highly-charged assembly where he also defended the state Islamic religious authorities’ raid on a dinner at a church last week.
The former PKR leader and a group of demonstrators rallied after Friday prayers here in support of the Selangor Islamic Affairs Department (Jais) over its controversial raid at the Damansara Utama Methodist Church (DUMC) in Petaling Jaya on August 3. This is being condemned by both Muslims and non Muslims.
Among those present was Kulim MP Zulkifli Noordin. Ezam the former PKR frog who jumped ship reiterated “Those who are rude to Islam, Allah, Quran, we have no choice but to wage a war to defend our religion,” Ezam told the crowd under the newly-organized Gerakan Cegah Murtad group. (The anti apostasy movement) “We are ready for war. I stress that illah is Allah and we will die to defend Islam,” he added.Ezam also warned the media of what he described as false reporting against Islam, citing Malaysiakini and the Malaysian Insider. “If you don’t stop all this rubbish, we will go and burn you down,” he threatened the online news portals
As usual this criminal seditious uttering’s will be tolerated and subtly supported by Umno the ‘custodian of Islam’, saying the religion of Islam is being threatened now. The increasing helplessness of JAIS in coming up with sane or rational explanation for the church raid, and their blubbering’s has compelled Umno, as a desperate last resort in supporting Jais. The Selangor Islamic Police has justified the raid as a routine ‘inspection’ with police trucks and 30 personnel to chagrin of the nation and the civilized world.
This is PM Najib‘s ‘Moderate Muslim Country’. Just a few weeks after his trip to Vatican where he preached about interfaith understanding and goodwill among the countries of the world, his party Umno is in the forefront in demolishing the very fabric of religious and racial harmony. All those goons who participated in today slanderous action will be left, at the most only with a warning. But any imaginary threats to Islam will be reciprocated with most barbaric law like the ISA.
