DR.Jayakumar and comrades charged again

The six Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) members who were released from their Emergency Ordinance (EO) detention last Friday were charged again today at Butterworth Court, 3th August 2011, with possession of subversive documents. The six, including Sungai Siput MP Dr Michael Devaraj Jeyakumar, claimed trial to the charges under Section 43 and 48(1) of the Societies Act as well as Section 29(1) of the Internal Security Act. The 30 people facing the two charges under the Societies Act could end up being jailed for a total of eight years and/or a combined fine of RM10, 000 if convicted.

PKR Vice President N Surendran laments "The fact that the PSM 6 are being charged once again highlights the failure of key national institutions such as the police and prosecution bodies which are meant to act in the public interest. The charging of the PSM 6 is done not in the public interest, but in the interest of the BN government. We demand that the planned charges against the PSM 6 be dropped and that the Government apologises to the PSM 6 for the unlawful and politically motivated detention under EO. “

The state of delirium and delusion the country is undergoing now is an aftereffect of a self inflicted injury of a confused oligarchy. They are the people who must detain and charged, rather than Socialists. Communism and the cold war is already a thing of Past. Barisan National actively promotes comradeship with communist party of Cuba, People’s Republic of China and Vietnam. They are invited for every year for the Umno General assembly’s. Why is Umno not being charged with the arsenal anti communist laws their inherited from the colonial masters. The must charged for the ‘crime’ and the affinity they have with communists parties throughout the world.
