Merlimau and Kerdau a tainted victory

As expected in Merlimau and Kerdau the undeserved victory of Barisan Nasional brings no surprise to Malaysians. The unleashing of decadent, unsavory and deceitful way the election campaign was carried out by the ruling party, reveals the putridity and bankrupt of ideas of Barisan Nasional in their fervor to win the by elections at all cost. The leader of the opposition front DS Anwar convoy was stopped and pelted with stones and verbally abused by a group of rowdy Umno members who have succumbed to the worst hate propaganda perpetuated by Umno. This manifests the gutter politics and decadent and very low political culture permuted by Barisan Nasional.

Umno has reinvented their new ambassador the ‘srikandi bangsa’, the despicable Umi Hafilda to be their prime speaker with her trade mark of raising of her middle finger, which smacks of obscenity, and asking people to piss on Dato Sri Anwar, defying all the norms of the esteem Malay adat and the religion of Islam, and shaming and embarrassing the woman participants in ceramahs and the nation in whole. It’s so sad to see the level of political matururity expounded by Umno to win election in dehumanizing culture and religion, and their political theories the ‘end satisfy the means’ for their political expediancy. The real and urgent persistent problems of the country are diverted and false sense of security and feel good feelings are propagated by RTM, the ‘independent TV3’ and Umno BN controlled media like the scum Utusan and the Star just to hoodwink the rakyat.

The Election commission has become so subservient to allow and tolerate all the abuses perpetuated by the Government. As an institution mandated by the people to run fair and impartial elections, has become the tool of the government to run elections to the advantage to the ruling party, from the beginning of the electoral process and even the announcement of the dates of elections are fixed to suite and handicap the opposition and which can bring the maximum advantage to the ruling party. Government resources which are blatantly used by Barisan, for their election campaigning goes unnoticed, and without any action from the EC.

Tainted victories in the two by election are only temporary setbacks which would not dampen the spirit and resolve of the people to give Barisan a lesson which they deserve in the coming General election. The indifference to the enormous corruption in Sarawak and the undivided support given by Barisan to the despotic Taib Mohmad, will be the ‘hay which broke the camel’s back’, breaking the myth of permanent vote fixed deposit in East Malaysia. And the failure of Umno from reforming after the setback in Mar 2008, whereby their with old tested method of rewarding their cronies with projects and the implementing of multi billion ringgit worth of contracts without any transparency, will give them a stunning defeat even they can rest, now on the laurels on the victories in the two by elections.
