The qualifiers and the qualified

A Poem

the cucubera
collects the
twigs
leaves
decayed roots
one by one
cementing
with
saliva
to
create a
dwelling
a nest
never
got enrolled
in a
trade school

the piercing
of the
wind
on the
through
the bamboo
leaves
shoots
culminates
a sonata
is not
a student
of Berkeley

the gushing
of water
along
the cascades
of rock
reverberating
the raga
kalyani
and rhythm
of zakir Husain
never
has gone
kalekendra

the thin
impoverished
black African
of the xhosa
tribe
of the
cape of good hope
hever prequalified
to have
a rage
and love to humanity
to hate
fight
injustice
he only
need
a sincere
desire
which
no universities
provide
your hearts
laments
are your
qualification.
